Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency Ablation is an interventional procedure that is most commonly used to treat patients with neck or back pain from facet joint problems such as arthritis or injury. It involves the use of radio waves or electric current to generate enough heat to interrupt the nerves that go directly to the individual the facet joints.

You may be a candidate for a Radiofrequency Ablation if you have neck pain or back pain from facet joint problems such as arthritis or injury. The procedure is also used to treat patients with RSD involving the arms or legs as well as other unusual conditions. To find out for certain if you are a candidate for this procedure, schedule a consultation to be evaluated.

For up to a week after the procedure, you can expect to have some muscle soreness. You will need to secure a ride home and will need to take it easy for a day or so after the procedure. Most patients are able to return to work the next day. After the soreness wears off, you may feel significant pain relief that can last anywhere from three to eighteen months.
